Eramus of Hares End was never meant for greatness.

Born in a quiet village at the edge of a much larger world, he expected a simple life of hard work, familiar faces, and ordinary days. But when a devastating drought threatens Hares End with starvation, the village elders send him on a desperate mission to find food before time runs out.

What begins as a journey of survival soon becomes something far greater.

Beyond the safety of home, Eramus discovers a world more vast, dangerous, and mysterious than anything he imagined. Wolves stalk the wilderness. Ghoulish creatures emerge from the shadows. Strange cultures and distant peoples challenge everything he thought he understood about the world. Along the way, he encounters fierce Northmen, a princess and her guard, wandering mystics, and travelers whose knowledge suggests that the boundaries of his world may extend far beyond the horizon.

Even more unsettling are the dreams. Eramus is haunted by visions of his late wife and by messages from a mysterious woman he cannot understand. The dreams feel too vivid to dismiss and too purposeful to ignore. With every mile he travels, the line between coincidence and destiny begins to blur.

Then he meets Lewatollma. Their connection is immediate, powerful, and impossible to deny. It is also forbidden.

Lewatollma belongs to the elite Nawiman culture, the daughter of a powerful Lord whose world is governed by hierarchy, tradition, and rigid expectations. To the Nawiman, Eramus is little more than an outsider from a primitive land, a man without status, influence, or any legitimate claim to stand beside her.

What begins as an unlikely romance quickly grows into an act of defiance. To remain with Lewatollma, Eramus must challenge customs older than either of them, confront those who believe birth determines worth, and prove himself in a society determined to keep him in his place.
