Welcome to the world of Ethesia and the Damascus Guild. J.C. Wines is thrilled to invite readers along on a journey filled with magic, mayhem, and epic adventure.

J.C. has been writing stories since elementary school, although those earliest efforts consisted primarily of ridiculous characters inhabiting outlandish settings that could make perfect sense only to an eight-year-old. After many years of reading, writing, and refining his craft, those eccentric characters and unpredictable worlds gradually became more cohesive, slightly less eccentric, and far more accessible to a wider audience. Twenty years after those first imaginative experiments, he can finally call himself a published author.

Born and raised in East Tennessee, J.C. lives in Upper East Tennessee with his wife and their three furry, four-legged children. He is a devoted fan of science fiction and fantasy, as evidenced by his ever-expanding collection of laser swords and wizard wands. His literary interests also reach well beyond speculative fiction, however. He is an enthusiastic reader of Charles Dickens, Wilkie Collins, and Alexandre Dumas, drawing inspiration from classic literature, swashbuckling adventures, intricate mysteries, and tales of sword and sorcery.

In addition to being a lifelong bookworm, J.C. is also a newly minted theater enthusiast. He and his wife began participating in community theater and quickly became engrossed in the experience. They enjoy singing and acting onstage, although J.C. makes no claims about being a dancer, and helping bring beloved stories to life for local audiences. Visitors to Jonesborough, Tennessee, who attend the repertory theater’s production might even spot a familiar face among the cast.

J.C. believes everyone has a story that deserves to be told. Whether it unfolds in the familiar world around us or in a realm that exists only within the imagination, there is always room for something fantastical, meaningful, and epic.
